Ultra Lactic Acid Peels

What is an AHA Peel?

Naturally occurring in milk, lactic acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA), which increases the skin’s natural moisture levels and can resurface the skin. The time frame of the treatment and the strength at which it is applied (between 30-80%) will depend on how your skin reacts and the desired results. Ultra Lactic Acid peels work by loosening the thick surface layers of the skin, and stimulating collagen production in deeper layers. A smoother and healthier skin is expected after the upper layers are sloughed away.

What are the advantages of having a series of Lactic Peels?

  • Clarifies the skin
  • Large pores are reduced and acne is improved
  • Cell turnover rate is increased
  • A more glowing, youthful appearance is revealed
  • You may see a reduction in fine lines
  • Effective treatment for ingrown hairs
  • Breaks down cross linkages between aging skin cells
  • Stimulates collagen production for more even, plumper skin

**Results may vary from person to person**

Who are the best candidates for Lactic Peels?

  • All ages, men and women
  • All skin types showing signs of acne or aging
  • When deeper resurfacing isn’t necessary or don’t feel ready for more intensive treatments
  • People who do not want any visible peeling

LED Light Therapy

Low level light therapy (LLLT with Healite II is a non-invasive and pain free treatment that affects your body at a cellular level by delivering concentrated energy deep into your tissue. This upgrades your treatment and takes it to the next level, as it can improve healing times, soothe active acne, relieves pain, promotes skin rejuvenation and enhances your body’s overall natural cellular recovery.

How many treatments do I need?

We recommend six peels at two weekly intervals for noticeable improvements, with less or more possibly required according to your personal desired results, the condition being treated, your home skin care regime and the strength of the peels. Maintenance peels to retain the benefits can then be done at 2-3 monthly intervals, along with a daily AHA skin care routine. This ongoing skin care program uses advanced products containing a therapeutic level of AHA’s at an active PH, along with other active ingredients.

The Procedure

It’s likely that when the peel is applied you will experience an itchy, tingling sensation for a few minutes, with stronger solutions stinging a little, but the actual peel takes between 10-20 minutes.

Some patients, particularly those with sensitive skin or those having stronger peels, may experience some redness but most go straight back to normal activities. Some people may have some mild skin flaking after a few days, but this does not determine the effectiveness of the peel.
